Told You So

The one-percent sales tax, having been passed in April, has turned out just as underhanded and duplicitous as we first reported it to be.

County Board Member Gregg Knott lets the vultures off a bit easy, considering that he has realized, as many of us had during the vote, that the proposition was passed by means of deceit and guile. The County Board now has no control to repeal it, nor as we warned at the offset, are any of the educationalists forced to make good on their promise.

Let us not forget that this faux promise was ostensibly for school construction and renovation, was spearheaded by CLASS and its teacher union hack Del Ryan. Although their own website says that it CANNOT [their emphasis] be used for salaries or indoctdiversity programs, the News Gazette reported in his own words told us this was not the case.

In other TASSer news on the KENNEL front, a case of the RABBIES has been reported in Kansas where a teacher has been fired for not exclusively prostrating to "sunshine" but als0 "rain." Naturally, the school is not speaking, but no doubt much to their frustration, students are. Student-wise the score is 200-1.

Beyond the obvious question of whether the school fired him for his political views, which according to the students sans one were unobtrusive (a notable difference from a notorious Colorado case where the teacher was fired (and later reinstated mind you) for comparing Bush to Hitler minus any form of context or rebuttal), there are several important ones to ask:

  • Does Mr. Latham belong to a teacher union?
  • What is Mr. Latham's status if he does?
  • Will they cover his legal costs (like they do with statutory rapists in their ranks) if he litigates for wrongful termination?

We do not know, since the Kansas NEA branch will not talk, but it will be interesting to watch. The NEA will defend terrorists, but will it defend its own?
